Do you ever give thanks for a gift received?
When
Jesus travelled along the border between Samaria and Galilee, Ten men who had
leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and with a loud voice called unto
Jesus. That day all the ten were healed as they went to show themselves to the
priest obeying the word of the Lord. Jesus Christ had restored the defiled and
gave them the flesh of a new born child. Out of the ten men, one returned to give thanks,
but nine went away. I would like to share the lyrics of a song written by
the Medical mission sisters.
“God gives gifts to us every
day,
Favors His people in every way;
Hope restored and pain relieved;
Do you ever give thanks for a gift received?”
In
Luke: 17:18
we read that Jesus asked …Was no one found to return and give praise to God
except this foreigner? It is good to give thanks to our God. Psalms 95:2
says “Let us come before Him with thanksgiving”
We need to be grateful for all His benefits towards us. We tend to take things
for granted. Count your blessings name them one by one and it will surprise you
what the Lord has done. Colossians 3:15 says “…be thankful”.
